Betty Lou Lyle Warden was born October 27, 1931, in Triadelphia, West Virginia, daughter of the late Eugene and Clara May Lyle.
Betty was raised and educated in Washington, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Trinity High School in 1949. She later attended W & J College. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in that capacity at Hamot Medical Center and Pleasant Ridge Manor West for 30 years, retiring in 1998.
Betty was a member of the McKean Methodist Church. She was also a member of LPN Association of Erie, the Foundrymen Association of Erie, and she was the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Albion.
She was an avid gardener and home decorator. She played musical instruments and sang. Betty loved dancing, camping, canoeing, and she enjoyed spending time with the family, especially during the holiday season. She always helped people in need and gave her time freely to others. And if she wanted something done, it had to be yesterday.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Hupp, her brother, Ernie and wife Elsie May Lyle of Washington, and her daughter-in-law, Colleen Hupp of Ohio.
Betty is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Warden, whom she married June 21, 1991 at Methodist Church in McKean; her five daughters, Deborah S. Luke and husband Rick of North East, Cheryl Toth and wife Sylvia of San Tan Valley, AZ, Laura Buie and husband Mike of Girard, Lora Bertges of Erie, and Lisa Dydek and her husband Scott of Erie; her four sons, George Bertges and fiancée Angel Lopez of Mesa, AZ, David Hupp of Girard, Danny Hupp and wife Pat of New Berlin, NY, and John Hupp of Conneaut, OH; her stepdaughter, Brenda Lee Brown; as well as 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
