On-Site Cremation Services

cremationMany funeral homes, unlike typical mortuaries, do not have on-site cremation services.  This requires that the funeral home transport the deceased to another location for the actual cremation and then back to the funeral home for the remainder of the funeral process.  At Mountain View Funeral Home, we have on-site cremation services, which allows you to have the utmost confidence in how your loved one is taken care of and treated with dignity and respect as they are prepared for their final resting place.

Cremation is becoming a more popular option in our country and is an accepted form of burial in many different religions.  Cremation is the process of reducing human remains to basic chemical compounds in the form of gases and bone fragments. Cremation is not a funeral service in and of itself, but is the preparation of the deceased for the funeral and ultimately for their final resting place.  Embalming is not required prior to cremation unless the family wishes to have a viewing of their loved one prior to the cremation.  It is widely known that viewing and saying goodbye to the deceased is beneficial to the grieving process, but it is based on the needs and desires of you and your family.  If your family so chooses, they can be present as the deceased is being placed in the cremation chamber. Once the deceased is cremated, the remains can be stored in a variety of urns for the funeral or memorial service.

After the funeral services, there are a few options, which can vary from state to state.  The remains can be buried in a cemetery lot or cremation garden, inurned in a columbarium,  kept at home in an urn or even scattered.

At Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, we are here to help guide you and your family through the cremation process.  Our staff is here for you and we are happy to answer any questions you may have by contacting us here.
