Merritt Paul Dawson, 69, of San Tan Valley, AZ, passed away on June 22, 2015.
Paul is survived by his wife, Susan Dawson; step-children, Michael McCumber, Stephanie McCumber, and Andrew McCumber; daughters-in-law, Cynthia McCumber and Lindsey Dawson; grandchildren, Sylar, Hannah, Christopher and Kaylee; ex-wife, Mary Ann Dawson; sons, Darren Paul Dawson and Paul Matthew Dawson; sister-in-law, Peggy Dawson; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Dawson; his father, Merritt Dawson; and his brother, Lloyd Dawson.
Paul was a very loving husband, father, and pappy. He loved his grandchildren and the role he played in their lives. Paul was an avid golfer, and a die-hard New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He also loved going to the movies.
Paul was a hard worker, always going above and beyond the call of duty. He had a giving spirit, willing to do anything for anyone in need. He enjoyed his friends, and was always the life of the party. He will be dearly missed.
Services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015, at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home in Queen Creek, AZ. Family will greet friends for a visitation at 9:30am, followed by a memorial service at 10:30am. Interment will take place Monday, June 29, 2015, at 10:30am at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ.
