Steven Ray Simmons, 61, of San Tan Valley, AZ, passed away on July 31, 2016.
We met Steve a couple of years ago. We found him a very easy person to get to know and like. He had a way of putting you at ease. He took me on a four wheel trek with his club. I did not know what to expect but he put me at ease and we had a great time. Any time we were together we always had a good time taking about anything and everything. We as his family will miss him. But we know that one day we will see him again in Heaven.
I was in the car with Steve’s father, Ray Simmons, when he went to pick up Steve for a visitation day. Stevie was dressed so sharply, he was a handsome guy even then. He was just old enough to start talking. When he got in the car he stood really close to his father. So close that he was actually tucked a little behind his father’s right shoulder. After we traveled a ways, Stevie reached out and pointed through the windshield and announced very clearly with one syllable at a time, WAT-ER TOW-ER. And sure enough, he was right. He saw a few more that day and the way he announced them was very cute.I can’t forget that.Makes me realize how long I knew him.
