Shirley Ann Tietz (nee) Winchester, of Port Washington, WI passed away in Arizona on Friday, April 28, 2017 with her devoted husband at her side.
Born in Pittsburg, CA on November 23, 1939, Shirley was 77 years young. She is survived by her soulmate, husband Howard of almost 60 years; her loving children, Howard/Skip, Wendy (James Braun), David (Linda), Michael, and Sherry (Big Bob Williamson); grandchildren, Dan, Stephen (Gabrielle), Kevin, Scott, Daniel, Timothy, Samantha, Leanne, Jamie, Bobby (Karlee), Mehgan (Rob) and Gary; great-grandchildren, Steven, Isla, Ava and Everly; brother, David Winchester; sister, Betty (Richard) Scopline; brother-in-law, Paul (Connie) Tietz; sister-in-law, Kathy (late Gerald) Krause; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Shirley is preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Dumke; her father, Earl Winchester; her father and mother-in-law, Howard G. and Catherine Tietz; her PRECIOUS infant son, Patrick; her loving grandson, Jacob Tietz; and her favorite dog, Missy.
Shirley was employed at K-mart for 35 years. She enjoyed travelling and loved her second home in Arizona. She had a love for horses and nature. She loved anything western. Shirley was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing and painting. One of our favorite childhood memories was Mom painting our large picture window during the holidays. She loved to read, sew, fish and especially loved to entertain during birthdays and holidays. She loved to take pictures, and always had her camera ready. She was also known for “TAKING CONTROL” of the TV remote(s)!
Shirley will be remembered for her deep love of family and the kindness she extended to others throughout her life. She was a positive influence to all of those she touched. Shirley had a beautiful spirit and a heart of Gold. These great lessons are her legacy and we will always cherish these gifts.

My sister Shirley, always gave me a sense of comfort. I looked to her for help because that is the kind of person she was. She was kind and understanding. She was my friend. We did a lot together. That meant so much to me and Dick. I remember all the trips we took together with our family’s. I will miss her greatly.

Though technically related by marriage, grandma never treated me like anything less than blood. She lived the meaning of LOVE. I remember just calling her up when i was working near by and taking her to lunch. It was awesome being able to just hang out with grandma on my lunch break. I am truly going to miss her, but I know that I’ll see her again. I pray that my marriage is as happy and enduring as yours, you were very clearly and fiercely loved. We’ll see you on the other side.

This is so beautiful just like Grandma! It is so special to see what a huge family was created from the love of two people. Grandmas heart was so huge. She loved everyone and was warm and welcoming to all newbies in our family. Anytime there was a new relationship she was always asking, are they coming to Christmas or to thanksgiving? She always extended warm genuine invitations. My favorite was when she invited one of my cousins Navy buddies over for thanksgiving. So sweet. I will miss her so much and look forward to the day we are dancing together in heaven with no pain in our bodies.

Some of my most favorite memories include you taking me, summer and Jamie to the pumpkin patch in the fall and listening to country music as we drove there.
