Cleo was such a wonderful person. He loved his family and he was always there for each of us. He was a very logical man who took the time to think and meditate. Cleo would always analyze “everything” as he was very specific and detailed. He was always straightforward but tactful.
Although he received a college degree, he often stated how he felt about it. When he looked back on all of the years and time he spent to acquire it, he felt the same way as the Apostle Paul did as stated in Philippians 3:8 “What is more, I do indeed consider all things to be loss on account of the excelling value of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have taken the loss of all things and I consider them as a lot of refuse, that I may gain Christ…”
He stated that year after year there was an emptiness he felt, but no longer after he dedicated his life to Jehovah. Cleo cherished his relationship with Jehovah and what he learned about the future promises of God’s Kingdom (Matthew 6:9, 10). He loved the field ministry and shared what he learned with others whenever he had the opportunity. He loved public witnessing using the cart. He would get off work, rush home, change clothes quickly and head for the library for public witnessing. He also pioneered whenever he could.
He was appointed as a Ministerial Servant and served for many years. He served in the literature department which also at one time included pick-up and delivery. He took serious preparing, delivering speaking parts and participating at the Christian Meetings.
Cleo retired from Honeywell Aerospace. After retiring, he held many part-time positions at various companies. He enjoyed camping and was referred to as “Camp Boss”. He just loved watching cowboy movies. His favorite vacations were trips to visit family, also he loved traveling to San Diego.
There were so many other things that he enjoyed, but what was most important to him was that everyone make it into the promised new world here on earth. He loved the saying from Isaiah 6:8, “Here I am! Send me!”
Cleo is survived by his wife, Alsie Snelling; his sisters, Etta Williams and Mae Lemons; his brother, Ed Snelling and his wife Jesse; and his family whom he dearly loved, listed on page four.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 26593 N. Aladdin Road, Florence, AZ.
