Paul Robert Vaughn, 74, passed April 16, 2020. He was born August 13, 1945 in Redland, California and was a Bahai’ Pioneer for his faith (Bahai’ Faith – the youngest religion of this time), pioneering from Asia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Cajamarca, Trujillo, Lima, Arequipa, Chachapoyas (Amazonas – Amazones), Machu Picchu (Cuzco, Puno), and Chiclayo Peru, where he resided with his family and was stationed for 13 years. He had recently moved to Tucson, AZ.
Paul was a graduate of the University of the Americas in Mexico, 1971. His faith was the Baha’i Faith which has been in the family for many generations. Paul was an educator, a retired English teacher and Director of Instituto International De Cultura in South America, Peru, along with his beloved wife, Mavis Ingrid Holmes (Vaughn), who was born November 15th 1945 and passed January 11, 2010. Paul retired as Landscaper (gardening – gardens). He also served in the military as medical doctor for the Army and was Honorably Discharged.

Preceded in death by father Leslie Ford Vaughn October 5, 1910 – May 6, 1971, Roswell, NM. Death of mother Rhoda Weissman Born August 9, 1912, passed July 23, 1990, Palms Springs CA. Siblings, Bill – William (Chesarena or Chezarina) Vaughn, Peter (Christine) Vaughn. Father – in- law, Mark Holmes, Mother-in-law, mother, Vivian (Womack) Holmes; siblings-in-law, Markette (Colin) Hatch, Varonica Turner, Mark (Linda) Holmes, Bailene (Otis) Buckner, Granotta Holmes, Ronda (Ron) Campbell, Columbus OH; aunts-in-law, Jean Womack, OH, Patricia Chapiel, CAN; ID; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ceremony and interment were not held due to Covid 19 guidelines/restrictions. Services postponed, military services will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, date and time to be determined. A service for family and friends will also be held at a later date, location to be determined. Family requests donations in his memory be made to Baha’i Universal House of Justice, Cobb County assembly in Atlanta, Georgia.
