Eugene R. Ensell, age 90, of Queen Creek, AZ, died peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021, after a brief illness. Gene was born on December 23, 1930, and raised in Olean, New York. He is predeceased by his wife, Dolores Jean Ensell of Queen Creek AZ, his parents: James and Alberta Ensell of Venice FL, and two sisters: Peggy Pittman and Josephine Slaughenhaupt. Gene is also predeceased by three of his bothers: John “Jack” Ensell, Charles Ensell, and Edward Ensell.
Gene served 22 years in the United States Air Force and retired from the Air Force in 1970. He moved to Arizona with his wife, Dolores, and lived in Tempe, AZ, where he attended Mesa Community College and worked as an engineer for Motorola. He wrapped up his engineering career in Massachusetts and retired for a second time from Bell Labs AT&T in 1995. Gene and his family moved to Queen Creek AZ in 2003.
Gene is survived by his three children and their families: Deborah Ensell of Queen Creek, AZ, Michael and Joanne Ensell of Coldbrook, NY, and Michael and Patricia Ensell Trela of Sun City Center/Tampa, FL, his four grandchildren and their families: Jason and Christina Ensell of Wilton, NH, Timothy and Samantha Ensell of Dodgeville, NY, Brian and Jennifer Trela Gordon of Nashua, NH and Eric and Allison Trela Jones of Nashua, NH. He is survived by his brother David Ensell of Portville, NY and his four great grandchildren: Alex Ensell, Alice Ensell, Aiden Ensell, and Jack Ensell, and many nieces and nephews.
No memorial service is planned. The family would like to thank all who cared for Gene during his illness. We are very grateful for your support.
