Raymond Lee Reid, Jr passed away quietly Saturday night, March 26, 2022, at the Lund Home Hospice Center in Gilbert, AZ.  Ray had been able to spend his final day with his family that he loved dearly.

Ray was an incredibly hard-working man.  He achieved his Bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University.  After earning his degree, he worked for over 50 years in the beef and pork industry.

Ray met and married his wife Rita Reid in Liberal, KS. After marrying in Liberal they briefly lived in Kansas City, MO before moving to Woodridge, IL where they spent 22 years before retiring and moving to San Tan Valley, AZ.   Ray and Rita were together for 30 years and recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy (Raper) Reid, his daughter Morgan Rene, his grandson John Allen Lowe, and his brother-in-law Ronnie Scott.

In addition to his wife, Rita, Ray leaves behind his children, Kimberly Dawn Grobbe (Ed) of Innsbrook, MO, Brandi Carroll (Michael) of Crystal Lake, IL, Kimberly Leigh Lowe of Amarillo, TX, and Robert Reid (Amy) of Montgomery, IL; his older sister, Sharon Scott of Clovis NM, and his younger sister Geraldine Cress (Tom) of Albuquerque, NM; and his beloved grandchildren, Paige Carroll, Shelby Grobbe, Jodi Grobbe, Raelynn Carroll, Marcia (Rainey) Lowe, Emma Lowe, and Robbie Reid.

Ray’s passions in his earlier years included hunting and fishing.  He continued to enjoy cultivating and growing vegetables in his garden. He loved to grill where he made amazing steaks and ribs. Most of all, Ray loved nothing more than cooking wonderful meals for his family and friends.

Services are currently pending.  Memorials can be made to the New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home.
