Gregory Lee Allen, 72, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away on July 20, 2022. He was born on January 14, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois
He graduated from Hales Franciscan High School in 1968 and eventually joined the army where he bravely served his country in the Vietnam war.
Greg married the love of his life, Collin, in 1983 in Chicago. They moved from fast paced Chicago to settle down and raise a family in Owensboro, Kentucky where they spent many years as he worked as a boilermaker. They moved to Arizona in 2017 to be closer to his children and grandchildren
Greg had a passion for sports, specifically football and basketball. He was devoted to the Chicago Bears, the Cubbies, and the Bulls. He most likely would have been a riveting commentator.
Greg loved to fish and be in nature during his active life. Music was also an important/defining part of his life. He enjoyed cinema and television as well.
His smile was enchanting and there’s nothing that made him happier than to see others happy, especially his family, and more specifically his grandchildren. They were his world
He is survived by his loving wife, Collin Allen; daughter, Latoya Williams; son, Marcus Allen; brothers, Benny Allen and Michael Cross; sisters, Cynthia O’Cain, Arlene Robinson, and Joan Brewster; daughters in love, Symone Samson and Alyssa Feldhaus; close friends, Cornelia Ashley and Lois & Gary Miller, and eight grandchildren, Isaiah, Jasmyn, Jada, Circa, Aaron (AJ), Alma, Amelia, and Olivia.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd. Queen Creek, Arizona, 85142.
