It is with great sadness that the Rathi family of San Tan Valley, AZ and Washington, PA announce the unexpected death of Brett Stephen Rathi at the age of 48. He was born in Washington, PA to Nancy and the late Robert Rathi. Brett was a 1993 graduate of Trinity High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.
Brett was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. Brett is survived by Bonita, his beloved wife of 16 years; his son Brandon (14 y/o); his daughter Bentley (12 y/o); his mother Nancy; and his sister Barbara.
Brett was a kind and generous man who always put others before himself. He was a great listener and cared deeply for those he cherished. He enjoyed being just dad as he watched Brandon play football and baseball and Bentley riding horses in gymkhanas. He was the “Rocket Man” when he passed his level 3 certification in rocketry. He was a great golfer, poker player, and Kappa Psi Fraternity brother for life. He was a Pittsburgh sports fan at heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 28, 2023 at the Piatt Barnhill Funeral Home on 420 Locust Avenue in Washington, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Brandon’s and Bentley’s education trusts.
