Richard “Dick” Daring Turner, 89, of Walla Walla Washington, passed away on June 5, 2024 of natural causes.

Richard was born on June 17, 1934 to Roy D. Turner and Ferdia Lucille Howard. Growing up, Dick was a tremendous athlete, earning medals in javelin, boxing, and football. After graduating from Walla Walla High School he went on to study Electronics Engineering at Washington State University. He had a successful career with IBM.

Once retired, he spent his years enjoying his grandkids, and his hobbies, which included painting, playing card games, and singing, to name a few. He moved to San Tan Valley, Arizona with his wife in 2019.

Richard was preceded by his parents and his ten siblings, Thomas, Thelma, James, Herbert, Robert, Carol, Alta, Daun, (Richard), Barbara Joan, and Noel.

He had two children Laura, 65, and Derek, 61. He married Esmeralda in 1988 and gained three stepchildren, Catherine (Tony Newman), Czarina (Jesus Francisco), and Raymond (Jennifer Almeda). Richard and Esmeralda have six grandchildren Gabrielle, Janice, Jalen, JC, Jake, and Kate. Their “Papa” will forever be in their hearts.

Richard is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandson, Isaiah.

The family will hold an intimate Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Richard’s memory and/or a prayer offering to your church.

    We will have milk and bread in your memory from time to time 🙂 There are countless memories I have of you from growing up in High School, to memories of traveling with the kids. Too many to share. Good thing we have Facebook to remind us, right?

    Our deepest sympathies to Ate Esmeralda and family. Ate Esmer was blessed to have such a good loving Christian husband. and loving step dad to the kids. My dad used to call him “James Bond” as he reminded him of Sean Connery the first James Bond!
