Melissa Rene’ Roberts-Johnson

Melissa Roberts-Johnson, 54, Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away on September 6, 2024.

Melissa was born on April 14, 1970, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Parents Susan Roberts and Monroe Roberts raised Melissa in small town Texas with her three siblings, Jolie, C.E., and Andy. She married at the age of 17, earned her G.E.D., and became a mother to two beautiful children, Garrett and Clayton. Melissa and Kevin moved to Washington to raise their young children.

Joining The Boeing Company in the early 1990’s, Melissa started on the shop floor kickstarting a successful career that later spanned many positions and locations, positively impacting teams and colleagues.

Melissa divorced in the mid-late 1990’s and met Blake Johnson at Boeing, who she married in 1999 in Washington state. She and Blake moved to Arizona where they raised her boys as a beautiful family of four. Melissa pursued her interests in pool design and construction, then later with event planning in Parks and Recreation, which quickly became a passion of hers.

Melissa and Blake lived in Arizona, Washington, and Montana together, creating memories and making life-long friends along the way. Melissa’s boys, Garrett and Clayton, became wonderful young men who will carry on her legacy and who both cherish the memories they shared with their Mom.

Melissa shared strong morals for doing the right thing, which she carried close to her heart. Her passion for life and family will live on among those who loved her.

Melissa was preceded in death by parents’ Susan and Monroe and grandmother Virginia. She is survived by her loving husband, Blake; sons, Garrett and Clayton, and daughter-in-law Shelby; granddaughters, Finley and Emersyn; siblings, Jolie (and Johnny), C.E. (and Pam), and Andy; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

Service will be held at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home on September 13, 2024, at 1 p.m. in Queen Creek, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local Parks and Recreations Center or community center in honor of Melissa’s passion for community involvement.

Celebrations of Life will be held in Washington, Arizona, and Texas. More details to come.

Prayers to Blake and the Boys.

Melissa had a huge heart. I’m wholly grateful to have been able to spend so much time with Melissa and Blake, especially in my formative years.

One of the best summers of my life was being able to stay with them and play ball down in Arizona. I’ll always remember and be grateful for the memories, laughs, and all the support I received.

Blake – I’m forever indebted to you and Melissa; who were always there to help me. Love you and wishing you the best.

Missy was a jewel. She reminded me so much of her mom, maybe that’s 1 reason she was special to me. I was 14 years old when she was born and babysitting her and CE, her brother was a challenge. I know those granbabies were just what Missy needed. Blake, was a true spouse to Missy. He took care of her so well. I got to see Missy, a couple of days before she passed and I could tell she wasn’t feeling well, but she made sure Shelly and I were taken care of while we were there. That was Missy, making sure all went smooth with whatever she was doing. I will miss you sweetheart.

  6. Steve Brewer says:

So very sorry to hear of Melissa’s passing. Thoughts and prayers to Blake and family. RIP Melissa…

  7. Brenda Zard says:

    Blake,
I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful wife, I didn’t have the privilege of knowing her but she sounds like she was a wonderful person. My heart and prayers are with you and family at this time.

I met Melissa mid 2021 through her dog Tucker attending doggy daycare (my job) I would pet sit for her and we would visit often! She then became known as my Helena Mom as I was not from there. She was the best person to talk to and always gave the sweetest and best advice. She through my husband and I the most amazing and unforgettable baby shower for our first babygirl. She was such a generous and most thoughtful human being I’ve ever met! Blake I am so sorry for your loss❤️ This absolutely brakes my heart. Give Tucker smooches from us at SkyHi! RIP Melissa Johnson
