Michel James Sharp, 79, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away on May 15th in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on October 5th, 1947, Michel lived a life marked by courage, service, and devotion to his family and country.

Michel proudly served as a Special Forces Ranger and paratrooper during the Vietnam War. A decorated veteran, he was awarded 4 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star for his bravery and sacrifice. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to protecting others through his work as a police officer and later retired as a respected veteran officer. He also served with the National Guard and remained proud of his years in the Army and law enforcement.

Above all, Michel was known as an awesome father, devoted husband, and loyal friend. He will be remembered for his strength, honor, sense of duty, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

Michel is survived by his wife, Yonghee Sharp, and his daughter, Shayna Suni Sharp.

A service honoring Michel’s life will be held on May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
