Michael Douglas Hansen, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on June 6, 2026, at the age of 49.

Born in Ogden, Utah, on March 20, 1977, Mike lived a life defined by love, loyalty, generosity and an unwavering devotion to his family. Above all else, Mike was a family man. His greatest pride and purpose in life was being a husband and father, and everything he worked for was done with his family in mind.

In September 2011, Mike married the love of his life, Dawn Hansen. Together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, laughter and cherished traditions. Their marriage was the foundation of everything Mike held dear. He loved Dawn deeply and was proud of the life they created together.

When Mike married Dawn, he embraced her three sons, Dominick, Tysen and Jordan, as his own. He later welcomed two sons, Skyler and Michael, completing the family he treasured beyond measure. Mike never missed an opportunity to celebrate his boys, support them, encourage them, and tell others how proud he was of each of them. Being their dad was his greatest joy.

Anyone who knew Mike knew his presence was unforgettable. He was larger than life, with a contagious laugh, legendary sense of humor, and a gift for bringing people together. Whether he was hosting one of his famous breakfasts, quoting every line from Step Brothers or Wedding Crashers, telling stories around the table, or welcoming friends and family into his home, Mike made everyone feel like they belonged. He also had a well-known, almost feral love for sugar—never passing up a dessert, always sneaking an extra treat, and turning even the simplest gathering into an excuse for something sweet.

Mike loved hunting, fishing, golfing, cooking, and creating memories with the people he loved. He believed in showing up for others, lending a helping hand, and putting family and friends first. He had a rare ability to make people feel seen, valued, and cared for, and his impact on those around him will never be forgotten.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Hansen; his sons Dominick, Tysen, Jordan, Skyler and Michael; his parents, Douglas and Linda Hansen; his siblings, Kimberley Peltier (sister), Racquel (Kelle) Richardson (sister), Broc Richardson (brother-in-law) Benjamin Hansen (brother), Malan Liborio (brother-in-law) Sara Collard (sister), Alonzo Collard (brother-in-law), Samuel Hansen (brother), and Aubrey Hansen Bowen (niece), who was raised with Mike and loved dearly; and an endless circle of friends who became family, whose lives were made better by knowing him.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Mike’s legacy lives on through his family, the values he instilled, the traditions he created, and the countless lives he touched. To know Mike was to love him. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held in the coming months, with gatherings planned in both Arizona and Utah. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been finalized.
