In Loving Memory of Jacqueline “Jackie” McKenna Thompson
June 8, 1956 – October 18, 2026
Jacqueline “Jackie” McKenna Thompson will be remembered as a stubborn, sassy, one-of-a-kind woman who lived life in her own way and made lasting connections with the people around her.
Born in New York on June 8, 1956, Jackie grew up in Glendora, California, before making Nevada her home, where she raised her daughter alongside her beloved husband, Gary Thompson. Together, Jackie and Gary shared 31 years of marriage, building a life and family together. Although life took her to different places, her New York roots never left her. Her unmistakable New York accent would make an appearance whenever she talked about her birthplace, giving everyone a little reminder of where her story began.
Jackie had a personality all her own. She was strong-willed, full of sass, and never afraid to be herself. She loved Bingo and was a faithful player every Sunday. Through Bingo, she found not only enjoyment in the game but also friendship and a community of people who became part of her life.
One of Jackie’s favorite sayings was, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” It was a phrase that suited her well, reflecting the importance of the people and connections that made life meaningful.
Jackie leaves behind her daughter, Beth; her son-in-law, Fernando; her grandchildren and great-grandchild; her sister, Christine; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary.
Jackie passed away on October 18, 2026. She will be laid to rest beside Gary in Boulder City, Nevada, reuniting them in their final resting place after the many years they shared together.
Jackie will be remembered for her strong spirit, her sassy personality, her New York roots, and the friendships she treasured. Her absence will be felt by her family and friends, but the stories, laughter, and memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
May she rest peacefully beside Gary, and may there always be a lucky Bingo card waiting for her.
