Funeral Arrangements: Essential Documents You Need

Beginning Your Funeral Arrangements

Within 24 hours of your loved one’s passing, you will need to begin making funeral arrangements. Although we know how difficult a time this is, we want you to know that we understand. Our experienced and caring staff at Mountain View Funeral Home will be there to make things as easy for you as possible at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home.

Documents Needed for Funeral Arrangements

Before meeting with one of our Funeral Directors, you will want to compile some information to help with the funeral arrangements. Bringing the following documents of the deceased’s will help us prepare the necessary paperwork:

You will also want to bring a recent photo for obituary and preparation purposes, as well as an appropriate outfit for burial.

When making funeral Arrangements with the funeral director, you will be asked how many certified copies of the death certificate that you will need. As part of our services, we will obtain certified copies on your behalf. How many certified copies will you need? It depends on who might require one. You can review the list below to help you.

  • Life insurance companies
  • Motor Vehicles Division
  • Pension, IRA, or other retirement benefits
  • Probate of Will
  • Bank Accounts
  • Final Tax Return
  • Stocks and Bonds
  • Real Property
  • Your Own Files

There is no need to send a certified copy to the Social Security Administration. We will take care of that for you. As well, a certified copy for “government use only” will be provided for Veteran’s Benefits at no charge to you.
