Antoinette “Toni” Theresa Zaker, 75, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away on December 1, 2020. Toni, a former Postal Administrator, was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and moved to Arizona as a young adult. After getting married to her husband Chuck, the two relocated to Orange County, California, where they started their family and happily resided there for over forty years until they moved back to Arizona to retire to the state where they first fell in love. Toni is survived by her loving family including her husband of 54 years, Chuck Zaker, and her children: James and his wife Valerie, Mychelle and her husband Robert, and Debra and her partner Jennifer. She is also survived by her two sisters Janis Winters and Mary Ellen Hotovcin. Toni was a proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Jasmine, Jacqueline, Melyssa, Joshua, Macy, and Haley. A Celebration of Life will be planned for family and friends in both Arizona and California. Details will be announced at a later date.
I’m so sorry to hear of Toni’s passing. I worked with her for many years at the Westminster Post Office. She was always kind. My heart goes out to all of you.
Tosha will greatly missed. She has always been more than just a cousin she was always a close friend, even though she moved away from Pittsburgh many years ago we have always keep in touch. It is also sad that I never had the pleasure of meeting her family. She will be greatly missed.
Thinking of you all, Chuck and family at this sad time.
I had just a little contact with my mom’s niece from Pittsburgh, Toni, over the years. But I remember Toni’s smile and easy-going nature. One fond memory is that of driving Chuck and Toni through Phoenix in the ’70s, after I got my driver’s license. It was the first time I got to see, up close, how young love looked in a couple not much older than me. I’m glad that your children and grandchildren have benefitted by your long marriage, and I know that Toni’s generous spirit will continue to live through you all.
The Nemecek & Prosser families wish to send our love and sympathy to you, Chuck & families. Although we didn’t get to see you often, Toni and you folks have been in our hearts all along. Toni always had a great sense of humor and the prettiest smile ever! I was lucky to “room” with her when she first arrived in Phoenix and she was such a joy to be around. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
