Carlton Jordan Snow, Jr. passed away at home November 19, 2020. He was 92, born in Norfolk, Virginia on January 14, 1928 to Carlton and Hazel Snow.
Carlton received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Maryland. He entered the U.S. Navy on May 16, 1946 and received a ranking of Chief Disbursing Clerk (DKC) in 1962. He was honorably discharged from the USS Boxer and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal for his service ending in 1965. He greatly enjoyed the Navy.
Carlton was a Project Manager at a local shopping center in Norfolk, VA after leaving the Navy and decided to go into business for himself in floor covering. He thrived in the flooring business for 30 years. His nose was always in the carpet wherever he went.
Carlton’s biggest passion was playing golf with friends. He was an avid golfer and played well into his 90’s.
Carlton is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles E. and Robert Lee Snow; and his sister, Anne Elizabeth Snow. He is survived by his wife, Esther Snow and his sisters-in-law, Frankie K. Snow and Katherine Faynelle Snow. He is also survived by his nieces, Barbara Fouquette and Cheryl Lynne Layman, and his nephews, Robert Lee, William Larry, Michael, Kenneth Scott, Charles E. Jr., and David Jehu Snow. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
