Carole Ann (Swavely)(Schanely) Needham of San Tan Valley, Arizona, was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 2, 2024.

Carole was born to Russell and Edna Swavely on August 23, 1943.

She was married to Howard Clark Schanely from Boyertown, Pennsylvania, who passed February 14, 1966.

Carole later married Charles R. Needham from Winamac, Indiana, who passed April 15, 2004.

In 1961, Carole graduated from Pottstown High School.  After graduating and moving to Arizona, Carole attended Mesa Community College majoring in Psychology and worked as a collection’s agent for over 20 years.  Later, she worked as an administrative assistant to Pastor Gary Boye at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Tempe, Arizona.

Carole is survived by her significant other, Gerald R. Roush; 4 sons, H. Douglas Schanely, Brian S. Schanely, John P. Needham, and Daniel A. Needham; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Yeager; brother, Richard Swavely (passed in October 2018).

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 24498 S Ellsworth Rd, Queen Creek, Arizona, 85142.  Carole will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral service at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, 22425 E Cloud Rd, Queen Creek, Arizona, 85142.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Carole’s memory to Saving Grace Lutheran Church.
