It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved father, husband, and grandfather, Mark Pare, on Friday, April 11, 2025. He was a man who embodied strength, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to his family. His larger-than-life personality, boundless generosity, and endless love touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born in England on February 28, 1960, Mark was the firstborn child of Charles and Jeanette Pare. From an early age, he demonstrated the qualities of leadership and loyalty that would define him throughout his life. As a devoted father, husband, and grandfather, Mark’s love for his family was immeasurable. His pride in his wife Joann of 28 years, his children Kristen Walters-Zucco (Edward Walters-Zucco), Brett Pare (Cassidy Pare), and Courtney Hollman (Brian Hollman), and his grandchildren Fynn Pare, Jack Hollman, Link Pare, and soon-to-be-born Lucie Hollman, was evident in everything he did. There was no greater passion in his life than his family. His love for them transcended all, and it was in their presence that he found his greatest joy.
Mark had a deep passion for the ocean, which was a constant source of peace and inspiration in his life. Whether it was fishing, boating, or simply sitting by the shore, the sea brought him a sense of calm and connection. He also cherished the time he spent camping, often taking his family on adventures to explore the great outdoors. Traveling was another passion that brought him joy, as he loved experiencing new places and cultures, always bringing back stories and memories that would last a lifetime. Mark was also a proud member of the United States Navy, serving 4 years overseas.
Mark was also an avid supporter of New England sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. His enthusiasm for the teams was infectious.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jeanette Pare, and his in-laws, Robert and Joan Hettinger, and his two granddaughters, Scarlett and Sloane Hollman.
Mark is also survived by his two sisters, Annette Ramsdell and Michelle Leary, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. His absence will be felt deeply, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Though he may no longer be with us, the love and bonds Mark forged during his lifetime will hold us together, guiding us through the days ahead. His generosity, laughter, and warmth will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
Mark’s legacy is one of love, family, and unwavering strength. May we all carry a piece of his heart as we continue in this world without him.
There will be a private celebration of life with family and close friends at a later date.
I wish I could of met him he sounded like a great guy
Mark was always such a light when he came to the salon. He will be missed and never forgotten. My heart and prayers go out to Joann and all of his family and friends.

Sorry for your loss Joann, Kristen Walters-Zucco (Edward Walters-Zucco), Brett Pare (Cassidy Pare), Annette and Michelle.
Mark Pare was a character. The kind who colored outside the lines and made the world more interesting for it. His absence leaves a space that can’t be filled. Those of us who knew him will remember his particular brand of chaos, his loyalty, and the stories we can’t tell in polite company. The world is less vibrant without him. Rest easy, old friend.
Thinking of you all and reminiscing of past times including the serious and wild. I’m still in shock as I’m sure you all are too ( Joann, Kristen, Brett, Courtney, Annette and Michelle ). Healing prayers for all of you and the littles. He was a very proud Dad and Grandpa. Time is precious as these times remind us so stay close in his Love!❤️❤️❤️
He was so kind and generous. His larger than life personality will missed.
He was so kind and generous. His larger than life personality will missed. Blessings and condolences to you all. He loved you so much.
Mark has always been a great neighbor and friend. He was happy to lend us a hand when we needed it and we were always happy to help him and his family. He loved to toast everyone at his home for parties and celebrations saying all of us were his family too. We will miss him but will fondly remember his big spirit and love of life. Rest in Peace in Gods Heavely arms. We love you Mark, Joann and family.
Mark always lit up the room with his huge personality. He was the most generous and caring man I’ve ever known, there was nothing he would not do for his family, friends and coworkers. I’m blessed to have known and worked with him for the last 5 years.
Mark, you now can turn up the volume as loud as you want brother!! You will be missed.
Mark was such an inspiration to all that knew him, he and I would always talk about the good ol days in the USN and where we both had traveled around the world and how we loved serving our Great Country sailing the seven seas “Haze Gray and Underway”
Mark sure loved Music and he would come in to the office once in awhile and he would be in the back cube rockin out on great music, Boston, CCR, you name it and he would always ask me “Mitch is this to loud?” and I would respond not at all my Brother becuase it brings back alot of memories. We would laugh and Rock on.
Every year for the past 3-4 we had always had our Nascar Races at PIR and had such a great time together with Mark and his family and friends.
Mark had a personality that would lite up everything and everyone around him.
I am SO honored to have him as a freind, coworker and my Military Brother.
Mark, I Love you my Friend , may you rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I will miss you dearly but will always have you in my everlasting memories.
Our get togethers in our younger days were epic. Late night cards with Laura and Reed, Mark and Nancy and my wife Nancy and myself. We would whoop and holler until 4 in the morning. Which made it tough as we all had young kids to tend to in the am. But we loved what we doing and it was a good time in our lives. Mark was the life of the party. You will be missed.
We met Mark and Joann when they came to Connecticut to celebrate Fynn’s first birthday. Mark definitely had a larger-than-life personality that was truly infectious. His love for his family was very evident in the many pictures with Fynn and Link that Cassy has sent us through the years. From summers learning how to swim in the pool to celebrating many a Christmas, there was always joy and laughter spending time with them. He was a good man who loved his family and lived life to the fullest. He will be missed as we are blessed to have known him, too. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joann and all the family.
Wish we had more time my friend. Sharing our common deepest roots of New England history, sports and family. Was what we would always talk about. You will be deeply missed!. Peace my brother.
