Rafael Lucio Meza (Rafo) fue prematuramente llamado al cielo, el lunes 19 de agosto de 2024. Fue recibido por su papa y parientes que lo precedieron en muerte. Rafael nació el 3 Junio de 1970 en Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, México, hijo de Jose Guadalupe Lucio y Ventura Meza de Lucio. Era el 5to hijo de nueve.

En 1997, contrajo matrimonio con Sandra Lizeth Carrasco (Lizeth) en Nuevo Casas Grandes antes de mudarse a Arizona, EEUU. Rafael y Lizeth disfrutaron la vida de recién casados por varios años antes de darle la bienvenida a su hijo mayor, Diego. Un par de años después nació Rafael (Rafita). Su familia se finiquito al nacer su tercer hijo, Salvador (Chavita). Rafael y Lizeth festejaron su 27vo aniversario de bodas en el 2024.

Rafael era un padre, esposo, hijo, hermano, tío, amigo y mucho más. Era un hombre cariñoso y atento. Siempre hacía tiempo para las personas en su vida. Sus acciones demostraban los valores de estar al servicio de los demás y trabajar duro con diligencia para hacer las cosas bien. Rafael era serio y reservado, era un hombre de convicciones y carácter. Era firme en sus creencias y le transmitió esas enseñanzas a sus hijos. Apoyó de todo corazón a su familia.

Rafael fue un fanático del fútbol toda su vida, especialmente cuando apoyaba a su amada Selección Mexicana. Inculcó este amor por el fútbol a sus hijos y disfrutaba de asistir a los partidos de fútbol con ellos. Sus intereses personales incluían autos clásicos, construir su casa, coleccionar sellos postales y era un ávido estudiante de la vida.

Era un hombre de ética laboral incomparable que era querido por jefes y colegas por igual. Fuera de su vida profesional, Rafael tenía una pasión por los viajes y disfrutaba de visitar a su familia y amigos.

Le sobreviven su esposa, Sandra Lizeth y sus tres hijos, Diego, Rafael y Salvador; su madre, Ventura y ocho hermanos: María Camila, María Guadalupe, Aarón, Manuela, José Eusebio, María del Socorro, María Antonia, Francisco y sus familias.

Su repentino fallecimiento deja un vacío en la vida de muchos. A pesar de su corta vida, tuvo una vida feliz, con muchos momentos hermosos y gratificantes. Su legado sigue vivo a través de su esposa e hijos y todos los que lo conocieron. Lo extrañaremos y lo amaremos por siempre. Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el jueves 29 de agosto de 2024 en San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd. Queen Creek, AZ 85142. El velatorio comenzará a las 9:00 a. m. y los servicios a las 10:30 a. m. El entierro se realizará en San Tan Memorial Gardens en Schnepf Farms, 22425 E. Cloud Rd. Queen Creek, AZ 85142. Luego se llevará a cabo una recepción en 5643 E. Preakness Dr., Queen Creek, AZ 85140.

Rafael Lucio Meza, affectionately known as Rafo, was prematurely called to heaven on Monday, August 19, 2024, where he reunited his father who preceded him in death. Rafael was born on June 3, 1970 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose Guadalupe Lucio and Ventura Meza de Lucio. He was their fifth child out of nine.

He married Sandra Lizeth Carrasco in 1997 in Nuevo Casas Grandes before relocating to Arizona, USA. Rafael and Lizeth enjoyed newlywed life before welcoming their oldest son, Diego. A couple years later, they were joined by Rafael. Their family became complete with the birth of their youngest son, Salvador. Rafael and Sandra celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary this year (2024).

Rafael was a loving and attentive son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Rafael ensured to always make time for the people in his life. His actions demonstrated the values of being of service to others and working diligently to do things well. While Rafael was quiet and reserved, he was a man of convictions and character. He was firm in his beliefs and passed on those teachings to his sons. He wholeheartedly supported his family in their endeavors.

Rafael was a lifelong soccer fan, especially when he cheered his beloved Mexican National Team. He instilled this love of soccer in his boys and enjoyed attending football games with them. He was a man of incomparable work ethic who was beloved by bosses and colleagues alike. His personal interests included classic cars, building his home, collecting stamps, and was an avid lifelong learner. Outside of his professional life, Rafael enjoyed visiting his family and friends.

Rafael is survived by his wife, Sandra Lizeth and their three sons, Diego, Rafael, and Salvador; his mother, Ventura and eight siblings: Maria Camila, Maria Guadalupe, Aaron, Manuela, Jose Eusebio, Maria del Socorro, Maria Antonia, Francisco and their families.

His sudden passing leaves a permanent mark in the lives of many. In spite of his short life, he lived a life full of beautiful and fulfilling moments. His legacy lives on through his wife, children, and all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed and loved forever; until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd. Queen Creek, AZ 85142. Viewing will begin at 9:00 am and services at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, 22425 E. Cloud Rd. Queen Creek, AZ 85142. A reception will be held afterwards at 5643 E. Preakness Dr., Queen Creek, AZ 85140.
