It’s with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Richard Lorenzo.

August 18th, 1941 – March 13th, 2019

He was 77 years old, or as he would say, “7 decades baby!”

No words can describe the loss I feel in my heart right now. The man that I looked up to the most throughout my life has left this earth. He shaped my entire world, as all good fathers do, and taught me literally everything I know. From taking me fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, camping, and everything in between, to teaching me golf and being present at every sports game I ever had (as in from 1980 to present! Lol). He taught me the value in a hard day’s work and how to fix stuff with my own two hands… then how to drink beer when you get it all done. He taught me that Corvettes are cool and farts are funny… He took my mom and me to all four corners of this great country of ours, and on trips to many other countries as well.

He touched the lives of everyone in his path and was the friendliest guy in the world. He would strike up a conversation with anyone about anything and keep you smiling the entire time. He had the best sense of humor, the best advice and the kindest heart anyone could ever hope for. When he came into my mom’s and my life he changed our world. Yes, he was my stepfather, but by name only, he was my real father in real life… and although this day is incredibly sad and his presence in our lives will be greatly missed, I am thankful to have had him in my life, our lives, for the last 40 years.

I will always love you and miss you, ♥ Your Son, Shawn
