Robert “Rob” J. Ward, Jr. 51, of Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, surrounded by family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 2, 1973, in Oak Park, Illinois. Devoted husband, father, and son, known for his genuine warmth and passion for life. He is survived and cherished by his wife of 25 years, Pamela Ward (nee Jung), and his beloved son, Matthew Ward.
Rob graduated with a BA from Arizona State University, as well as a BSB in Accounting from University of Phoenix. He earned his CPA license from University of Illinois. Finishing his schooling with a Juris Doctor with a Masters of Law in Taxation, LLM from John Marshall Law School. He went on to build a successful career, founding and operating his own CPA Firm in Joliet, Illinois for 17 years. His academic and professional accomplishments were a testament to his dedication and hard work.
Outside of work, Rob was an avid collector of fine wine, fast cars and rare sports memorabilia, a passion that reflected his deep love for baseball and football. He enjoyed sharing this passion with his family and friends, and his collections were a source of joy throughout his life.
Rob is also survived by his loving mother, Judith Ward (nee Quinlan).
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Ward Sr., Grandparents Joseph and Mildred (nee McKee) Ward. Also, Walter and Rita (nee Metz) Quinlan, whose memory he treasured.
Beloved brother-in-law to Mark and Karlee Jung and Paul and Robin Steward. Brother of the heart to Mark Yeates, John Michalek, and Adam Coe.
Loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephew as well as countless friends.
Dear Rob, you burned bright during your time here on earth. God used you well. Your light was infectious and unforgettable. Your energy was boundless. Your loyalty, love, dedication, and passion will live on in the hearts of those you loved. You will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life to honor Rob’s life will be held at a later date.
I just heard the sad news today. I am very sorry for family’s loss. I have been a client of Rob’s for five years or so. He was vibrant and great to talk to. He will be missed.
