Teresa Margaret (Botial) Richardson

Born July, 28th, 1939 – Passed November, 10th, 2025
 – Queen Creek, Arizona

Teresa Margaret Botial Richardson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and family matriarch, passed peacefully after 86 beautiful years of life.

Born in 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Teresa was the second youngest of six children. Her heart always belonged to music and creativity. In the late 1960s, she fulfilled her dream as a writer and singer with Motown, pouring her soul into every lyric and performance. Music remained a lifelong companion—a constant soundtrack in her home and a gift she passed down through her family.

A gifted storyteller with strong opinions and a sharp wit, Teresa went on to author three books: an autobiography, a parenting guide, and a collection of her reflections and perspectives on life. She believed deeply in the power of words—and she never hesitated to use hers.

Above all, Teresa’s most treasured role was that of a mother. Her home was a place of gathering, guidance, and unconditional love. She was the one people called for advice, for honesty, or simply to feel grounded and cared for.

Teresa is survived by her devoted husband, George; her four children, Walter “Buddy” Tillman, Teresa Johnson, Alicia Rahaman, and Renee Grant Patrick ; her ten grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren—all of whom carry forward her legacy of resilience, humor, strength, and love.
