Best Funeral Service | Thank You Notes

best funeral serviceHaving the best funeral service for your loved one is important to you. However, just as important is the act of appreciation to those who offered support and condolences during this time. Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery realizes this can feel somewhat wearisome after the services and burial have concluded. So, we want to help make the task of writing thank you notes easier.

Consider the following:

  • If you were able to verbally express gratitude to those who attended personally, you should not feel obliged to send a written note of thanks. Even at the most organized and best funeral service, you don’t have the time or option to thank everyone in person if the turnout was large. It’s not socially expected either. Of course, you can do so if you wish.
  • Typically, thank you notes are sent to the following: funeral director, friend/family member who made the arrangements, clergy or spiritual counselor, anyone who sang or played an instrument at the service, whoever gave a eulogy, pallbearers, people who sent flowers, people who served as hosts during and after services, to those who gave donations in your loved one’s name and any friends/family who brought food, babysat, tended to pets, or chauffeured.
  • If you’re not sure of what to say to certain people, keep it simple. “I just wanted to say thank you” is just fine. Everyone understands.
  • You can also divide up the thank you notes among family members to write. One example of how this might be written – “My brother, Jude, asks me to thank you for the flowers and kind message of sympathy.”
  • If you use pre-printed cards, it is better to include a short, handwritten note inside, but it’s optional.

We believe the above tips will give you clarity and peace of mind. If you’ve any questions about us, or are looking for help in arranging the best funeral service, don’t hesitate to contact us. Our compassionate staff is pleased to assist you.
