James Dennis Ellsworth, 36, of Prescott, AZ, departed this world suddenly on Saturday, September 6, 2014, and shall now rest in peace. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

James was born on June 16, 1978, in Albany, NY. The son of James Dennis Ellsworth, Sr. and Susan McGrath Ellsworth, he lived his early years in Albany before moving to Hoosick Fall, NY. After graduating from Hoosick Falls Central High School, James entered the US Marine Corps, serving his country during the Afghanistan War. He served six years with engineering support and was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.

James resided in Arizona after his service career and continued his education at Central Arizona College. He apprenticed at Iron Workers Local #75 in Phoenix, AZ before moving to Prescott, AZ. James was a kind and gentle person who loved animals, motorcycles, snowboarding and shooting pool. Those close to him will remember his sense of humor and his concern for those less fortunate. He is survived by his mother, Susan McGrath Ellsworth of San Tan Valley, AZ; great aunt Hazel McGrath of Delmar, NY; aunts and uncles Art and Alice McGrath of CA, Michael McGrath of VT and Kathleen and Bruce Tentinger of IA; cousins Brian Ellsworth of NY, Jakob Tentinger of IA, Erin LaGrange of IA, Brian Tentinger of MN and Katie Hartelt of IA, as well as numerous extended family members.

Visitation will be from 9:00am to 10:30am on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 11:00am, with final interment at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms. James was preceded in death by his father, James Dennis Ellsworth, Sr., his grandparents, Arthur and Dorothy McGrath and Elmer Ellsworth and Norma Hutchinson, and his aunt, Loretta Stanton.
