On September 4, 2019, due to natural causes, we unexpectedly lost our beautiful wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Mary Jean St. John Schraufnagel. Mary Jean was loved by so many and has left a legacy of grace, compassion and laughter.

Mary Jean is survived by her loving husband, Gary, and their two sons, Ty (Hayley) and Blake (Arianne). She spent the last ten years perfecting the art of being a Grandma, and will be greatly missed by their four grandchildren, Noah, Aidan, Avery, and Parker. She also leaves behind her sisters, Judith (Miles) and Susan (Doug), and their children, Jessica, Dan (Rachel), and Kendall, and her mother, Pat. Her surviving brothers- and sisters-in-law include Don, Jan (Greg), Scot (Luci), Linda, and Jeff, and their children Ashley, Autumn, Hilary, Heather (Jason), Ivy (Chase), Joel (Samantha), Lane, Mason, Paul, Salia, and Shawn (Julie). She is now reunited with her father, Irv, and her nephew, Austin.  Mary Jean was also an incredible friend and was intentional about creating meaningful connections with people in every place she lived, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Colorado, and Arizona. Her loss will be felt by so many.

As so many people have been touched by her charm and hospitality, everyone is invited to a joy-filled celebration of life on Saturday, September 14th, at the Mesa Campus of Central Christian Church in Mesa, AZ (933 N Lindsay Rd, Mesa, AZ 85213).

The celebration will begin at 11am in the main sanctuary. She loved color (her favorite color was purple) and she loved scarves so please feel free to dress in bright colors and scarves.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to causes she was passionate about.

Sunshine Acres (http://www.sunshineacres.org/invest/)
and
Paladin Sports Outreach (https://paladinsportsoutreach.sportssignup.com/…/ar…/1916610).

She was an incredible woman who had such an impact on so many people. Please know there is no obligation to attend, but know that everyone is welcome.
