Alex Gregory Newton, age 44, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, unexpectedly passed away on December 1, 2025. He was born on August 5, 1981, in Defiance, Ohio, to Gregory Newton and the late Sally Newton.
Although born in Ohio, Alex moved to Arizona as a toddler and it quickly became the place he loved most. He grew up under the Arizona sun, forming a lifelong pride for the state he would later call “the best place to live.”
Alex attended Highland High School and this is where he met the love of his life, Kim. Alex and Kim married in 2004 and together they built a beautiful family. He is survived by his wife, Kim, and their children, Logan and Aniya, who were truly the center of his world. There was no prouder father than Alex—he relished watching Logan and Aniya grow, learn, and become the people he always believed they would be.
Alex is also survived by his father, Gregory Newton and his brothers, Chad and Toby Newton. He also leaves behind many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends, who became family.
Alex worked for and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. Alex’s 16 years of supporting teachers and military members continue their education, was a source of pride for him. He was known for his dedication, work ethic, and steady presence; not to mention his ever present laughter, eagerness support to his team, and best gif game around.
Alex lived a life full of passion, loyalty, and love. He cherished his country, enjoyed political debates and admired figures such as Donald Trump and Charlie Kirk. He also adored his pets—his cat Swyper and his dogs Dakota, Fae, and Ripley—who were constant companions and nap partners (something he proudly reminded Kim he got to enjoy more often than she did).
A lifelong learner, Alex enjoyed exploring new topics on YouTube, experimenting with 3D printing and working with his hands. He was exceptionally talented in woodworking, creating beautiful patriotic crosses and large wooden American flags that reflected his pride in his country and his craftsmanship.
Alex valued the everyday moments. He was the photographer of the Newton household, capturing both the milestones and the small, ordinary seconds that made family life meaningful—never believing in a “bad” photo and proudly displaying the ones others might have deleted.
He was the kind of man who woke at 5 a.m. just to drink his coffee and be present as his family started their day. He told his children he loved them every chance he got, whether they were leaving the house or just stepping out of the room. He wanted to make sure they never doubted his love—not even for a moment.
Alex was a loyal friend who gave thoughtful advice that genuinely shaped the lives of the people around him. His biggest fear was leaving this world too soon and missing the chance to watch his children grow up and grow old alongside his wife. Though he left far too early, he lived every day with devotion, purpose, and heart.
