Alan Michael Brown, 71, died on March 5th, 2024, passing peacefully surrounded by his daughters.

Alan was born June 12th, 1952, son of William O. and Lauretta (Kramvik) Brown. He was raised in Hannaford, ND, graduating from Hannaford High School in 1970. He then attended the University of North Dakota and was a proud alumnus.

Alan married Bonnie McDonald in 1979, and they had three daughters. They divorced in 1989.

He worked as an insurance agent most of his career. He loved his work, getting to know his customers so well, many had become very close friends. He met the love of his life, Cathi Christopherson in 2001. They spent many wonderful years traveling together and making special memories. He was known for his quick wit, sarcasm, and big heart. His booming voice and large presence made him leave a lasting impression on anyone he met.

He leaves behind three daughters, Allison (Greg) Gilbert, Cottage Grove, MN, Tara (David) Baltes, Fargo, ND and Kelly (Kyle) Onerheim, Fargo, ND, & eight grandchildren, Elise Gilbert, Vivien Gilbert, Grace Baltes, Mason Baltes, Holden Heid, Jace Heid, Axel Heid, and Payton Onerheim, and his loving partner, Cathi Christopherson, Queen Creek, AZ.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

    Al was a very dear friend of mine for many years. I always enjoyed our time together and the many games of pinochle I played with Cathi and Al. Both Cathi and Al became close friends with my entire family and everyone always enjoyed his wit and quick response to any comment. I will certainly miss his friendship and hospitality. My thoughts and prayers remain with Cathi and Al’s family during this healing process.
