Allen Robert Schneider, 81, of Queen Creek, AZ, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 17, 2019.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife Lydia of 41 years, and is survived by his wife Marion of 12 years; daughters, Erika (Russell) Bishop, Heidi (William) Dickerson and Wendi (John) Serna; stepson, Jason (Samantha) Wagner; and many adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.  Allen’s warmth and care was expressed in many ways in his roles as father, husband, papa and friend to everyone he met.

Allen attended Lane Tech High School and soon after served in the Navy as a helicopter electrician.  He began his telephone career at Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a Lineman, and retired as a Manager of Engineering and Planning.  Allen collected and built multiple layouts for his favorite pastime and hobby – model trains.  Many grandchildren and neighbors enjoyed “playing trains with Papa” and admired Allen’s detailed work and creativity.  Allen could always be found fixing, building, planning or helping with a variety of household projects and repairs. He spent his free time investing in others by lending a hand or a tool.  Allen would often be spotted cruising around in one of his current sports cars, picking up a Barnaby’s pizza or a hot dog at Old Neighborhood.  His greatest treasure was Jesus Christ.  This was exemplified in his commitment to serving in his church as an Elder, Deacon, Bible study leader, mentor and prayer warrior.  He was lovingly referred to as “Pops” or “Big Al” on the church softball team where he greeted every man as they rounded first base.  He will be greatly missed by all those who knew the amazing man he was.

In celebration of Allen meeting his Lord, visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 30 at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Road, Queen Creek. The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, 22425 E. Cloud Road, Queen Creek.  The family will provide lunch at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse in Mesa.  Memorial donations may be made to Christ Church – Gilbert, 1120 S. Gilbert Road, Gilbert, AZ, 85296.
