April “Da Momma” Ried

April D. Ried, a loving mother, wife, and friend, who was affectionately called “Da Momma” by her kids (and husband), departed her loving family on March 5th, 2021 from breast cancer.

April was born in Sacramento California on April 21st, 1956 to Charlena V. Dow (Pemberton) and Jack C. Pemberton.

April was an amazing, caring, and devoted mother to Tonja, Richard (Ricky) and Kari. She raised her children with love and devotion in Arizona with her husband of over 48 years, Richard (Rick).

As a Business Analyst for many years, April was known for her patience and loyalty. Her hobbies (and if you know April, you know this list has a start, and probably not an end) included any type of crafting, from sewing, to card making, to quilting, riding with Rick on motorcycles or some adventure across the globe to see what could be seen. She was often found behind the camera, and not in front of it, making something for a charity that she was involved in or teaching others about one of her hobbies.

She is survived by her three children, Tonja, Richard and Kari; her grandchildren, Cooper, Cora, Tucker and Daluka; as well as many nieces and nephews too.

Aside from the children she doted on, April is survived by her siblings, David, Andrea, Doug, and Daniel.

A Memorial Celebration will be held on the 27th of March 2021 at 11 AM at:

San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 South Ellsworth Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bosom Buddies of Arizona (https://bosombuddies-az.org/donate/ ) can be made in April’s name.

A continuation of the Celebration of April will be held after the Memorial Celebration beginning at 1 PM. The venue is being determined

    To April’s family:
I had the pleasure of having April on my team for a few years. I admired her work ethic, which was second to none, even when I knew she wasn’t feeling well. She was a pleasure to work, meticulous, and could always be counted on to get it done. We’ve greatly missed working with her. Most of all…I’ve missed talking to her on a regular basis. It was always fun to hear her talk about her children and especially the grand children. She was so proud of all of you and I could hear in her voice the joy that each of you brought her. I am very sorry for your loss. April was truly special and a good friend. Wishing you peace.
