On the morning of June 25, 2021, Danny Doyle Dannels of Queen Creek, passed away peacefully at the age of 68.

Danny was born to Byron and Dolores Dannels on October 11th, 1952 in Tucson, Arizona. Danny was the oldest and only son with two younger sisters. As a child, he spent his time swimming, playing baseball and basketball. He graduated from Amphitheater High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Sociology degree at Weber State University. He spent most of his career at the United States Postal Service where he worked for 27 years. On February 23, 1978 he married his sweetheart Mabelann Gibb and together they raised their 4 children: Jessica, Wyatt, Randee and Kyle.

Danny’s true passion was playing sports. He earned the nickname “Cousy” after the late Celtics great because of his abilities to make amazing passes in the basketball court. That name would stick with him his whole life. He was an avid movie fan and music lover. He was often quoting movies and singing along with his favorite songs. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh. Danny had a tremendous love for his grandchildren. He would spend time swimming and playing games with them and was famous for joking that he “only had kids so that he could have grandkids.”

Danny is survived by his wife, Mabelann, their 4 children and 17 grandchildren, as well as his two sisters. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on July 6, 2021 at the LDS Church 20415 E. Chandler Heights  Rd. Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
