Darlene Florence Kirchhardt, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Mercy Gilbert Hospital in Gilbert. She was born on January 28, 1942, in Chicago, to Fred and Florence (Borozenski) Mohr.  She was a 1960 graduate of Steinmetz High School.  Shortly afterward Darlene met the love of her life, Paul Kirchhardt, and they ended up marrying on May 29th, 1965, in Chicago.  She worked in the stock transfer department at Northern Trust Bank until she had her first of three children in December of 1967.

Darlene decided to stay home and raise her kids so they never came home to an empty house. She was so supportive and was always there to cheer them on and she continued that as a grandma by going to the grandkids recitals, concerts, awards banquets and many sporting events throughout the years.  Darlene would always say that was her favorite way to spend her time.

She always considered Chicago her home and loved to visit and spend time with her close friends from there. She absolutely loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandkids.  She also loved spending time with her husband and taking short little weekend getaways to the mountains to enjoy the cool weather, fresh air, and peaceful surroundings.  She was truly the most kind, caring and, compassionate  person you could ever meet.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Paul “Chuck” Kirchhardt; her son, Keith (Debbie) and their two kids, Kollin and Jordan; her daughter, Renea (Bryce) and their three kids, Matthew, Trenton and Mason; her son Craig (Erin) and their three kids, Megan, Shannon and Connor; her brother, Don Mohr; as well as her two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Florence Mohr; her brother, Fred Mohr; and her sister, Carolyn Mohr.

Please join us in the celebration of life for Darlene Florence Kirchhardt. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, December 12th from 6pm to 8pm (with rosary at 7:30) at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85142.  A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 13th from 10am to 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 20615 E. Ocotillo Rd., Queen Creek, AZ  85142.  Flowers can be sent to San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, and memorial donations may be sent on Darlene’s behalf to Arizona Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
