Darlene (Haug) Sattler, 84, passed away, February 12, 2023, at her daughter’s home in San Tan Valley, AZ.   She was born October 31, 1938, to Martin & Clara Haug in Grenora, ND.  Darlene married Norman Sattler in Williston, ND, on April 9, 1956. They were married 53 years at the time of Norman’s passing in 2009.

Darlene cooked in several supper clubs in Williston, ND and Great Falls, MT, before the purchase of the family’s first restaurant in Great Falls, MT. In 1977, the family moved to Choteau when they purchased the Circle N and operated it until 1992. While Darlene worked at Eddy’s Supper Club in Great Falls, she cooked for many famous folks, including the Osmond’s, Sonny & Cher, Clint Eastwood and Vice President Spiro T. Agnew.  She cooked thousands of prime ribs over the years and her family especially loved her caramel rolls and donuts.

Darlene was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Choteau, MT, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in the beautiful Montana mountains.

She is survived by her children, Laurie Alcorn of San Tan Valley, AZ, Loretta (Stuart) Bliss of Dutton, MT, Lynda Gilchrist of Castle Rock, CO and Larry (Toni) Sattler, of Choteau.

One brother, Marty Haug of Williston, ND.  Grandchildren, Jason Alcorn, Tina Fortuna, Cameron Alcorn, Candice Bliss, Colby Bliss, Kyle Sattler, Klay Sattler and Aspen Haggan.  Great grandchildren Bailee Liszewski, Meadow Fortuna, Elias Alcorn, Lucas Alcorn, Lincoln Alcorn, Ledger Sattler, Emmett Sattler, Julianna Sattler and Henry.   And one great great grandchild: Violet.

Proceeding Darlene in death were her parents and husband, brothers, Bernard “Bud” Haug,  Orvin Haug, LeRoy Haug, sisters, Delores Sampson, Shirley Ann Hoburka,  and Linda Lou Selby.

Visitation will take place at Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home Saturday February 18th and Sunday February 19th  from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday February 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial following at Choteau Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.  Refreshments will be served at the church following all services.

In Lieu of flowers donations in Darlene’s name are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
