Dexter Glass, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home on February 12, 2024. He was born in Mesa, AZ on September 10, 1962, to his parents, George W. Glass and Cora L. Glass.

Dexter was raised in Mesa, AZ, and attended the Mesa School District. He was educated from 1967-1980 where he graduated from Westwood High School.

Following high school, Dexter worked for the city of Mesa from 1980 to 1983. Afterward, he worked for Burlington Air Express from 1983 to 1985. In 1985, Dexter moved to Los Angeles where he drove school buses. In 1989, he moved to San Bernardino, California where he worked for Jack Disposal Company. Dexter attended Swift Trucking School where he received his CDL. He became an over-the-road truck driver until he retired in 2001.

Dexter leaves to cherish his memory:  three daughters, December “Sabrina” James, Loretta Glass, and Venus Glass, all of Las Vegas, NV; one granddaughter, Mariyah Watt; one brother, Stanley Glass (Judy) of San Bernardino; one sister, Judy Glass Ellis of San Tan Valley, AZ; his extended grandchildren; as well as many aunts, uncles, many relatives, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Preceding Dexter in death are:  his parents, George and Cora Glass; four sisters, Ernesten, Fay, Virginia, and Cyeral; two brothers, Rickey and Otto; and two nephews, Spencer L. Ellis II and Earl Washington.

Dexter is truly going to be missed. The sixth child of this union has been dismissed. We love you, Dexter. The family would like to thank everybody for their calls, texts, cards, and flowers. God bless you all. A memorial service to honor Dexter will be held at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home on March 1, 2024, at 3 pm.  The location is 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd, Queen Creek, AZ  85142.

    I feel your loss. I’ve known Dexter since we were children growing up in the Mesa District of the COGIC under Elder Dansby. I’m sorry to hear of his passing and I’m praying for the family.
