Donald Ray Hines, 36, of Queen Creek, AZ, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021.  He was born in Mesa, AZ, to Daniel and Carrie Hines.

Donald’s number one passion in life was being a father and absolutely loved his entire family. He was as loyal as someone could be to all he loved.  He was always willing to help others and expected nothing in return.  Hunting was one of Donald’s favorite past times, but also loved to travel, especially to Disneyland and one of Donald’s other favorite places to travel was to OB (ocean beach), San Diego. That was his and his family’s go to spot where he could go to one of his favorite restaurants, Hodads. He enjoyed all sports, particularly football and the San Francisco 49ers. Donald was an avid lover of all animals and spending time in nature.  He was truly one of a kind and his wife’s, Colleen, partner in crime and was always up for one of her crazy ideas or adventures. Donald will be deeply missed and has left a really big hole in the hearts of the loved ones he has left behind.

Donald is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald “Bop” Whiteaker, Herbert Hines and grandmother, Dolora “Mama Hines”.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Hines; love of his life, his daughter, Haylee Ray Hines; nephew, Xavier Gonzalez; step-son, Blade Chapman; parents, Daniel and Carrie Hines; grandmother, Joan (Gigi) Whiteaker and many more family members and friends.

A memorial service for Donald will be held on Friday July 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd. Queen Creek, AZ, 85142 with a reception and continual fellowship to follow.

Donald was one of my students at QCHS his senior year, my first year of teaching. He loved football so much, that sometimes he forgot to do his class work. But I could never be mad at him. His shy, but precocious smile was always beaming. He was a kind and gentle young man, who was loved by all. I am so sorry for his passing. God bless.
