It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, Elena Frescas, on May 26, 2023, at the age of 84. She was born on June 25, 1938, in El Paso, Texas, to Elizandro Rascon and Blasa Davila. Elena is survived by her five children: Mary Lou (Rick Boisselier), Ester (Jeris Baker), Elizabeth (Roberto Montes), Raymond (Lourdes Frescas), and Paul (Lisa Frescas). Unfortunately, she was preceded in death by her son Ramon Jr. She leaves behind a legacy of love as a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Elena actively engaged in various professional occupations and charitable endeavors. In her early years, she dedicated her time to the administration of a neighborhood elementary school and even coached softball and basketball. Inspired by her deep affection for children, Elena established a day care center in her own home. She served as an exercise instructor at the local YMCA and worked as a CNA at a doctor’s office. Elena also delivered flavored Paleta popsicles to small towns surrounding El Paso. Together with her first husband, Ramon Sr., they were members of The Optimize Club, where they operated concession stands at various events and even ran their own firework stands for several years. Additionally, they generously contributed to the church bazaars, offering their time and effort as volunteers.

When Elena lived in Utah, she continued her strong work ethic by cleaning homes, working at a health store, and caring for the elderly. She also ventured into retail sales at Dillard’s and devoted countless hours to serving her community. It is noteworthy that even at the vibrant age of 68, Elena accomplished a remarkable feat by graduating from massage school, becoming the eldest member of her class.

Elena’s infectious laughter, sense of humor, and radiant smile could light up any room. She had a deep love for music, with Pedro Infante and Vicente Fernandez holding a special place in her heart. Cherishing moments spent with her family and loved ones, Elena received a beautiful surprise on her last birthday when all her children and many grandchildren gathered together. She was a remarkable woman, cherished by many friends and loved ones. Her unwavering faith made her a pillar of support whenever needed. Elena peacefully passed away surrounded by her family, leaving behind an immense void that will be deeply felt.

Please join us in paying respects to Elena during the visitation, which will be held on June 4th from 2-4pm at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home. The address is 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85142. If you wish to make floral contributions in her memory, please send them to the same address. It is worth noting that yellow was her favorite color.

The services, along with additional visitation, will be conducted on June 5th at 10am at the LDS church. You can find the church at 33794 N. Gary Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85142.

What a beautiful lady Elena was, inside and out. Getting to know her in her later years was such a pleasure for me. She really was kind, sweet and so funny. She had a great sense of humor. What I loved about her the most though was her obvious delight, enthusiasm and love for her adoring family. RIP sweet lady, I will think of you often.

What a dear friend Elena was while we were both living in Salt lake city. The many fun saturday mornings we spent at yard sales together! Crazy days loading up her car followed by all we could eat lunches that went on until dinner and then a movie! What a spirit she had with such a great love for the Lord and people. Our shared spiritual experiences are ours to keep always. Oh Elena I can’t count the many beautiful times we spent together and pray for to feel that joy together again. Elena you are loved and missed…..until we see each other again….God bless.

I still remember when she went swimming with her daughter, Marylou and me . I was amazed at how she took time to teach my son, Ben, to swim. This amazing woman will be missed dearly. She rests in peace with our Lord.✝️
