Elvis A. Ridgway
July 9, 1981 ā November 27, 2025
Elvis A. Ridgway, born July 9, 1981 in Lakewood, NJ, raised in Toms River the community that shaped his generous spirit, passed away on November 27, 2025. His loss leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends, yet continues to shine through the countless lives he touched.
Elvis was a man of many gifts and a proud father. He was a great friend, a patient listener, a confidant and a devoted brother, and a proud uncle. He was also a natural teacher and counselor – someone others turned to for comfort, clarity, understanding, a joke that would leave you laughing until you cried, or just being silly. His compassion seemed endless. He truly cared for people, offering support not out of obligation but of genuine love. His passions were woven beautifully into the fabric of his life. Elvis had a deep love for music, often finding solace and joy in the melodies that spoke to his heart. He had a love for art, closely following the details of each piece he held dear as if he felt each brush stroke on his soul. His sense of humor was an enormous gift he shared freely, and he cherished the laughter found in those treasured moments. Family was at the core of everything he did, and carried an unwavering devotion to those he loved. Perhaps one of his greatest joys was the ocean- its calm, its power, its endless horizon. It was a place where Elvis felt at peace.
Above all, his greatest love was his daughter Mya, of Tom’s River, NJ. She was the center of his world, and he carried immense pride in the person she is and will continue to become. Through her, his legacy of kindness and resilience will live on.
Elvis is preceded in death by his father John F. Ridgway in 2000, and his mother Helen M. Ridgeway in 2020. He is survived by his daughter Mya Ridgway, and ex-wife Wendy Ridgway of Toms River, NJ., his loving fiance, Jennifer Vandersarl; siblings and extended family, Edward Ridgeway, Robert & Christine Ridgeway of NJ, Debra Whateley, Stephanie Dice, John Ridgway, Helen Homolovich, Michael Malzberg,Ā Penny and Craig Masker, William and Melissa Ridgeway of Pennsylvania; Thomas and Jessica Ridgeway of Virginia; as well as many nieces,Ā nephews, and cousins.
Each of them holds memories of Elvis that reflect warmth, humor and unwavering loyalty.
Though he left this world too soon, Elvis leaves behind a powerful legacy of compassion, joy, and deep connection. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those who mourn him, and may the ocean he loved so deeply carry his soul gently forward.
May he rest in peace, forever cherished, never forgotten.
