Ernie Vega was born on March 27, 1945 in Mesa, Arizona to Carlos Vega and Juana Rodarte. While at Tempe High School he met Angie Gonzales and they married on August 24 1963 in Tempe, Arizona at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Angie, and three children, Rebecca Vega Guerra, Kathryn Vega Harrigian and Ernest Vega. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Vega in 2002. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the director for Community Action Program then transferred to the Relocation Department for the city of Tempe and retired in 1995. He was a Grand Knight for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and volunteered many hours for Father McGivney’s food bank.  Ernie met our Lord’s loving embrace on August 1 2020. He will forever be missed but will live in our hearts forever.

Services will be held Friday, August 14 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Queen Creek, AZ. There will be a visitation at 9:00 am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek.
