Gary Kerns died unexpectedly in his home on March 22, 2018 in Queen Creek AZ at the age of 67.

Gary is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Patricia Kerns; children, Heather Tinsdale(son-in-law, Heath Tinsdale) and Lindsay Kerns; grandsons(Christian, Keegan and Kylar Tinsdale); brother, Eddie Kerns (Sister-in-law, Julie Kerns); and 5 nieces/nephews(Kacey, Ryan, Shannon, John and Casey). He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Kerns; mother, Dorothy Robbins; and brother, Larry Kerns.

Gary was born October 2, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to Wayne Kerns and Dorothy Robbins. He graduated from Walnut Ridge in 1969. He married the love of his life, Patricia Curtis in 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona. Gary began working for Honeywell (Sperry) in 1973 as an aerospace technician.

Gary was accomplished at woodworking, model building and Renaissance enactments. He was an active and dedicated member of Redemption Gateway Church and often volunteered at guest services department.

A funeral is scheduled for March 30th at Redemption Gateway Church (8743 East Pecos RD #112, Mesa, AZ 85212) at 10:00am, with a light reception to follow in the lobby. Pastor Mark Andress will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gary’s life.

    Fid Lopez is my cousin n spoke extremely high of Gary; he had the privilege of presenting his eulogy of which I hear received many fond remarks ; RIP Gary..u r now celebrating new life in heaven??

    So sorry , I just heard about his death. I worked with Gary at Epic Christian Church food distribution. Enjoyed his humor and his love of life. He will be missed by all who knew him.
