Gerald J Lucey, 74, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, September 30, 2021 with his  wife of 51 years, and his faithful canine companion by his side.

Gerry was born in New Britain, CT, son of the late James Lucey and Doris (Chamberlain) Lucey. He met his best friend and wife, Linda (Hartford) Lucey, at The Stanley Works in New Britain where he worked in sales in the tool division for over 25 years. Gerry and Linda moved to Southington, CT where they lived for 35 years before retiring in Arizona.

Gerry was a hard worker and a jack of all trades. He took pride in everything he did. He would be the first person to lend a helping hand to a life long friend or a complete stranger. Whether it be snow blowing a neighbor’s driveway or inviting a lonely soul to the dinner table, Gerry’s compassion to anyone in need made him far greater than the humble man he portrayed himself to be. He was an inspiration to anyone who truly knew him.

Gerry always said that family was the most important thing in life, and he was very proud of his own. He always said his favorite time in life was when he had young kids at home, and he got to experience that joy all over again with the birth of his only grandchild.

Aside from his wife, Linda, Gerry is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Bancroft and her husband, Wayne, of Enfield, CT, his son Brian Lucey and his companion, Jennifer Csuka, of Berlin, CT, his brother, John Lucey and his wife, Georgia, of Las Vegas, NV, his sister, Joan Lucey, of Bristol, CT, his sister-in-law, Mary Lucey, of Hartford, CT, his mother-in-law, Bernice Johndro, of Wolcott, CT, his sister-in-laws, Michele Harrington and Lori Landry, his brother-in-law, Matthew Emond, his cousin, Donna Buden, his nieces and nephews, Mark, Colleen, Alison, Kelly, Meghan, Heather, Ryan, Kevin, Cassandra, Andrea, and Sarah, and his pride and joy, his grandson, Tyler Lucey, as well as several close friends who were also family to him. He will furever be missed by his best buddy, his German Shepard, Hannah.

In addition to being predeceased by his parents, Gerry was also predeceased by his brother, James Lucey, and his sister-in-law, Lois Lucey.

A private memorial will be held at the convenience of the family.
