On January 8, 2025, the world lost a good man. Gerald Michael Klein, Gerry as he is known, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in Chandler, Arizona. Gerry lived in Queen Creek, Arizona. Gerry was born November 14, 1954, to Leonard and Adeline Klein in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He was their sixth child. The family lived in Chilton, WI where Gerry attended school. He was a member of the 1973 class of Chilton High.
In 1980 he moved to Arizona where he worked for over 30 years building municipal water storage for Aquastore Southwest and later Engineering America. After retirement he had his own handyman business.
Gerry’s hobbies included woodworking, collecting HO trains, and riding motorcycles. He could fix or build just about anything from ink pens, bowls, furniture, houses and even a bridge. He loved riding his motorcycle. In 2023 he completed a bucket list trip of riding to Alaska.
In 1985 Gerry and Michele Scroggins were married. He died four days short of their 40th wedding anniversary.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Michele; brothers Richard (Dee) and Tom (Mary); sisters Louise Raube (Dennis) and Gail Schommer (Bernie); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jim Klein, LeRoy Klein, and nephew Len Klein.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
Gerry was a classmate and next door neighbor. He was always kind, helpful and made you feel important. I am so glad that he was able to attend the CHS Class of 73 50th reunion. We had a chance to catch up on our lives since we both had moved away from Chilton. The stories he shared about the motorcycle trip to Alaska were so interesting. He will be missed! Sending sympathy to his wife and family.
Gerry is a classmate of my husband, Dino. A special, kind man. We had the special opportunity to golf with Gerry at the last class reunion. We were so bad and he was so patient. Was a great day
From across the miles, we send our heartfelt sympathy and healing prayers during this difficult time. Many great memories of our time together. May Gerry rest in peace!
