Guss Miller

Share Obituary:
Guss Allen Miller was born on November 25, 1948, in Stonefort, Illinois, to Guss Almos and Iva Pearl Miller of Eldorado, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Joel, and Dale Miller, and his sister, Phyllis.
Guss graduated from Eldorado Township High School in Eldorado, Illinois. He joined the U.S. Army in 1968 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, surviving combat. For his courage and service, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his two daughters, Monica Klimson (John) and Melissa Driessens (Michael); his grandsons Steven, Presley (Clint), and Ricky; his brother, Lowell Miller of Flint, Michigan; and his sister, Linda Stovall of Nacogdoches, Texas.
Guss will be remembered for his sense of humor and dedication to his family.

I started working for Guss in a gold mine when I moved to Nevada. He was a very kind, honest and understanding boss, and I learned a lot from him, as a mechanic, a teacher and as a leader. We became good friends and he actually ended up working for me for a while. We worked together up until we both retired from mining. He had a very positive influence on me and my career in that business. I missed him when he retired, and I miss him still. I am still very proud to call him my friend.

Guss and Linda. Nothing else really needs to be said except Guss has been taken away however the love Linda and Guss shared will go on forever. A loving family that will honor him and share all they know about Guss. Friends and co-workers will remember him fondly and he will be missed. Since we did not live remotely close, it’s hard for me to share my personal friendship. It was the occasional card, or text and of course the Facebook posts. I enjoyed watching from afar and being so jealous of that swimming pool. I can just imagine the parties!!! But Linda and Guss made it a point to stop in to visit with my sister Pam, my husband Harry and myself when they were driving through. I am pretty sure it wasn’t directly on their route home! We had a lovely visit and I always think of him fondly for doing that. We are in drive over country and more times than not it’s drive by country also. Except not Linda and Guss. Thank you always.
