It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend, who left this world on 5/5/2023. Inez Cude Petrie was born in Fittstown, Oklahoma, in 1936 to Lavelle and Anna Bee Cude, and was the fourth child in their family. Her family migrated west and eventually settled in Delft Colony near Dinuba, California. It was there that her other three siblings were born.

Inez’s greatest joy in life was her family, which always included a couple of small dogs, and her home. At the age of 23, she became a mother to her only child, Terry Allen, whom she loved with all her heart. Inez was never one to shy away from hard work and dedicated herself to her career until she retired. She was a well-known voice at Frontier Chevrolet for many years and finished her career at State Farm Insurance.

In 1972, Inez met and married the love of her life, Jim Petrie. Sadly, Jim passed away from cancer in 1984. Later, she moved from Fresno, California, to Sun Lakes, Arizona, where she spent the rest of her days. She was a devout Christian and loved singing in the choir and volunteering at the local rehab shelter.

Inez was preceded in death by many family members, including her parents, husband, granddaughter, and siblings. She is survived by her son Terry and his wife Toni, her granddaughter Whitney, grandson Jesse Martinez, stepdaughter Barbara Hunt and her sisters Frances, and Shirley, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Inez will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her kind and generous spirit. Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through those who loved her. We take comfort in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her loved ones who passed before her, and that she is at peace.

Rest in peace, Inez. You will always be in our hearts.

If Tulare County can get the documents processed in time, the funeral will be held at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba, CA. on Friday, June 2nd. If they are unsuccessful a Memorial Service will be held in or near Dinuba at a yet to be determined location on the same date.
