Ioana Radu, 86, of Florence, AZ passed away on October 12, 2022 in San Tan Valley, AZ. Mrs. Radu, a homemaker, was born in Bucharest, Romania.

She is survived by her husband, Marin Radu; her daughters, Florentina Popescu and Georgetta Ilie; her sons, John and Peter Radu; her grandchildren, Irina Cirimpei, George Cirimpei, Stefan Ciocan, Gabriel Cirimpei, Ioana Ciocan, Damaris Duna, Cornelius Duna, Ana Duna, Emanual Duna, Parmena Evans, Andreea Ilie, Alexa Stancu, Jonathan Radu, Anthony Radu, Claudia Radu, Jessica Radu, Jennifer Gordan, and Andreea Radu; and her great-grandchildren, Alexandru Popescu, Anthony Popescu, Haley Cirimpei, Lucas Cirimpei, Emma Chirnoaga, Anton Ciocan, Landon Cirimpei, Isaac Crook, Penelope Crook, Sebastian Ilie, Gianna Aguirre, Julian Aguirre, Samuel Duna, Isaiah Duna, Gabriella Duna, Dewi Evans, Rhys Evans, Liam Evans, Cristiano Gamez, Minka Duna, and Gabriel Duna.

Ioana is preceded in death by her grandchildren, Persida Popescu and Gabriel Duna Radu, and one great-grandchild, Tristan Cirimpei.

Ioana Radu, also known as “Jeni” to many, was a wonderful and virtuous Proverbs 31 woman. She lived her life to serve God and to support her family. Immigrating in 1989 to America from Romania with her husband, children and grandchildren, Ioana was always there to bring support and love to her family. Ioana loved to garden, and her gardens were always full and bountiful. Ioana was also an avid animal lover and provided a lot of support to local dog shelters. She was loved and will be missed by many.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7

Services will be held on Friday, October 21st at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek. Family will greet friends for a visitation at 9:00am, followed by a funeral service at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, 22425 E. Cloud Road in Queen Creek at 12:00pm.
