Jack Roy Revard, 68, of Florence, Arizona, passed away on December 27, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. Jack was born in Tacoma, Washington, to Edna and Charles (aka Jack) Revard on April 26, 1946. He married Valerie Dean on March 17, 1967 in Boise, Idaho. He graduated from Sitka High School in Sitka, Alaska.

In February of 1965, Jack joined the United States Navy. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served with the PCF 102 Coastal Patrol Division “Swift Boats”. He later served aboard the USS Clarion River and the USS Vernon County, off the coast of Vietnam. Jack also served at the US Naval Southern Command Headquarters in the Panama Canal Zone in Sardinia, Italy, on board the USS Howard W. Gilmore and with the Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 24 in Rota, Spain. Among other honors and citations, he was twice awarded the Navy Achievement Medal. Following his naval career, Jack and his family returned to Sitka, Alaska, where he worked for Samson Tug and Barge from 1978 through 1996. When Jack retired in 1996, he and his wife relocated to Palm Springs, California, where they opened a cruise travel agency and traveled the world.

Jack is survived by his wife, Valerie; his daughters, Ann (John Mosqueda) Revard and Tiffany Revard; his brothers, Jim (Cathy) Revard, John Revard and Joseph Revard; his mother, Edna Branlund; grandchildren Celeste Mosqueda and Grayson Revard; step-brother Walter “Wally” Branlund; nephews Cameron and Charles; nieces Kelly and Rachel, and a host of friends and shipmates. Jack is preceded in death by his father, Jack, and his step-father, Werner “Rudy” Branlund.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on January 5, 2015 at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:30 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Pallbearers will be John Revard, John Mosqueda and Gregory Raines. A reception will be held at the family home at 5691 West Admiral Way in Florence.

Donations may be made in Jack’s honor to Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, to which the family extends its heartfelt thanks. The family also wishes to extend sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Emergency Department of Banner Ironwood Hospital and the Intensive Care Unit at Banner Gateway Hospital.
