With deep sorrow and enduring love, we announce the passing of James Patrick Tonelli, known affectionately as “Jimmy” on September 1st, 2025. Born on February 8th, 1974, he was the beloved son of Kimberly Elaine Mead (Turner) and Robert John Tonelli Jr.

Jimmy was a man whose presence was larger than life; a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose wisdom, warmth, and unwavering loyalty shaped the lives of all who knew him. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Jennifer Tonelli, whom he married on March 20, 2010, in a joyful ceremony. Together, they built a home rooted in love, laughter, and unshakable family values.

Family was Jimmy’s world. He was the proud and devoted father of Amanda Tonelli, Tyler Tonelli, Brady Tonelli, Kara Middleton, and Tyler Middleton, and a deeply loving grandfather to Kylann Henderson, Gunner Benson, Kolsen Dixon, Braxton Tonelli, and Emerlee Benson. Whether it was a quick text, a phone call, or hopping on a plane, Jimmy never hesitated to show up. He believed in being present, creating moments, and making sure everyone knew they were loved.

Jimmy cherished his Sundays, when the house was filled with the smell of home-cooked meals and the sounds of laughter during Sunday dinners; a tradition he held sacred. He and Jennifer also found immense joy in planning family vacations, always aiming to create memories that would last a lifetime.

Professionally, Jimmy spent over 20 years in the auto industry, where he left a lasting impression not only through his work ethic but also through the vibrant energy he brought every single day. He lit up the sales floor with his infectious smile, booming voice, and larger-than-life personality. Customers and coworkers alike were drawn to his confidence, humor, and genuine passion for connecting with people; many of whom became lifelong friends and even considered him a brother. Jimmy wasn’t just selling cars; he was building relationships and turning everyday moments into unforgettable ones.

A true lover of music, Jimmy was “named after Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin.” he had a deep connection to its rhythm and lyrics. It was the soundtrack of his life, and everywhere he went, he was singing a tune. Music was a source of comfort, reflection, and joy. He could talk for hours, engaging in long, thoughtful conversations that left others feeling heard, understood, and uplifted. He often sent his kids motivational quotes, songs, or little pick-me-ups; reminders of his love and support. His wisdom came not from books, but from life itself, and he never hesitated to share it with those he cared about.

He was a man of deep loyalty and endless affection, for his family, and for his dogs, who were never far from his side. They were part of his daily life and another reflection of his big, tender heart.

Jimmy also had a playful side and was proud of the little things that brought him joy, especially his Mustang, a car he meticulously cared for and loved to show off. That Mustang wasn’t just a vehicle; it was a symbol of his spirit—bold, sleek, and unapologetically him.

Jimmy’s childhood was filled with memories made alongside his three brothers, Jesse, Daniel, and Samuel, and his five sisters, Richelle, Natasha, Alisha, Alissa, and Hannah. Stories of adventure and mischief helped shape the incredible man he became. Those cherished memories will live on in every story retold, in every smile sparked by his name.

James Patrick Tonelli leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and unforgettable presence. His energy, humor, and the light he brought into every room will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We will carry him with us always, in music, in stories, in family traditions, and in the hearts of those he touched.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday September 9th, 2025 at 1:0opm at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ  85142.
