James Russell O’Briant “Jimmy”, 54, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1971, in Farmington, New Mexico, to Thomas and Wanda O’Briant.

James dedicated part of his life to serving our country in the United States Marine Corps.  After his military service, James continued to live with purpose and generosity, always eager to help others and never meeting a stranger along the way.

He was a passionate outdoorsman as James loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. On any day off, you could likely find him at the driving range working on his game. He had a magnetic personality, a kind heart, and a deep love for his family and friends. Those who knew him will always remember his warm smile, his giving spirit, and the unwavering love he showed to those around him.  One of his proudest roles in life was being a devoted and amazing uncle to his many nieces and nephews whom he loved with all his heart.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Cindy; brothers, Jeff, Dennis, and John, as well as, many other family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85142.  Family and friends are invited to gather and honor James’s life and legacy.  At a later date, James will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemeter .

James will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
