Joy Lynn Courtney, 27, most recently of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away in her home on Monday, August 22nd, 2022. She was born May 23rd, 1995, in Mesa, Arizona and called the Phoenix valley home her entire life.

Joy loved fiercely and was loved dearly by her family and everyone that was privileged to know her. Her smile and laughter were contagious and could take center stage and light up any room. She had a remarkable ability to take random things and create something beautiful. Joy had a passion for photography, botany, music, cooking, the outdoors, and motorcycles. She loved her cats and dogs, playing cards, watching old movies, and simply hanging out with loved ones.

Joy is survived by her mother, Rebecca Courtney; her father, James (Lisa) Courtney; her sisters, Stephanie Storm, Candace Courtney, and Melody (Ramil) Sacpopo; her brothers, Bradford (Bethany) Courtney, Robert (Donna) Courtney, David (Debbie) Courtney, Ralph (Alyssa) Courtney, and Kenneth (Melanie) Courtney; her grandparents, Ralph and Geri Courtney, and Kenneth (Carolyn) Kuhlman; 8 nieces and 6 nephews; and her loving boyfriend, Luke McCallin.

Joy was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Martha Kuhlman, and Rose Kirby.

Joy Lynn will forever be in the hearts and beautiful memories of her family and close friends who so dearly loved and cherished her, she was amazing and is irreplaceable. “Free Spirit”, “Jojo Coco”, the JOY of our family, if love alone could have kept you here, you would’ve lived forever. Rest easy and sweet, our beautiful girl.

A viewing service will be held For Joy Lynn Courtney on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with family time starting at 4:00 p.m. at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, located at 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd. Queen Creek, AZ. 85142.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Life Church, located at 16831 S. Greenfield Rd. Gilbert, AZ. 85295.

    I felt very honored to be with Joy recently while she was visiting and enjoying her family here in the Washington area , and also being with her in our Cornerstone Church praying with her and sharing some life experiences with her !!
